World’s maiden launch OF a TV channel ON mobile phone

TIMES NOW, a Times Group & Reuters Service – An urban, 24-hour cutting edge English news channel, was launched on R World on Monday January 23, 2006, the multimedia application suite of Reliance IndiaMobile. In keeping with contemporary times, this is a first – the launch of a TV channel on a mobile phone even before it is available for television viewers on cable networks. The channel goes live for the TV viewers in the next few days.
