Real Image Deploys RaptorQ for Digital Cinema File Delivery over Satellite Networks

Qualcomm Incorporated and Real Image Media Technologies announced an agreement to incorporate Qualcomm’s RaptorQ forward error correction (FEC) technology into Real Image’s file delivery software solution that runs directly on Real Image’s Qube XP digital cinema servers. The combined solution provides a reliable and cost-effective mechanism for delivering feature films to individual cinemas via satellite. Real Image’s initial deployment of RaptorQ includes 700 cinemas across India with plans for expanded implementation to nearly 2,000 theatres within the next 18 months.

Qualcomm Now Demonstrating Products Based on LTE TDD Technology

Company on Track with Commercialization of Products Based on LTE TDD Technology with First Devices Expected in Mid-2011 —

Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that the Company is on track with its commercialization of products based on LTE TDD and has been demonstrating products utilizing the technology at Expo 2010 Shanghai China. The demonstration uses the Qualcomm’s Mobile Data Modem™ (MDM™) MDM9200™ solution and is taking place over-the-air with 2×2 MIMO in the 2.3GHz band. Qualcomm plans to begin mobility trials of products based on LTE TDD later in 2010 in conjunction with multiple operators worldwide using its MDM9200 and MDM9600™ solutions.

Qualcomm Applies to Bid In India’s BWA Auction for 2.3 GHz Spectrum

Qualcomm, Room to Read, Nepal Telecom and S-Fone Establish Computer Labs with 3G Internet Connectivity in Rural Communities

— 3G to Benefit Underserved Communities in Nepal and Vietnam

MUMBAI — October 26, 2009 — Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq:  QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies, products and services, and Room to Read, a nonprofit organization that partners with local communities throughout the developing world and is dedicated to promoting and enabling global education, announced today the establishment of wireless computer labs with 3G CDMA broadband Internet connectivity for rural schools in Nepal and Vietnam.  Each lab includes 20-25 computers and serves as many as 50 students during a class period.  In addition to providing training for students to learn basic computer skills, each lab also plans to use technology to teach other subjects such as English, math and science.

“Access to online resources and educational materials can have a life-changing impact on students.  Not only will they have connectivity that enables access to learning materials and communities for the first time, but they will also have the opportunity to gain specialized skills and training,” said Dr. Paul E. As part of the project, five wireless labs have been established in the Kaski and Kavre regions of Nepal and six labs in Can Tho Province of southern Vietnam.  Qualcomm and Room to Read are working with Nepal Telecom and S-Fone in Nepal and Vietnam, respectively, to provide broadband connectivity in schools.  Through the provisioning of affordable, high-quality and reliable Internet connectivity to government schools where landline access is limited or unavailable, the wireless lab project helps underserved students bridge the digital divide and addresses the goal of universal access and opportunity in education.

Qualcomm Ventures Extends Submission Deadline for QPrize Business Plan Competition

MUMBAI — July 31, 2009 — Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq:  QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies, products and services, has extended the deadline for its Qualcomm Ventures QPrize Business Plan Competition and enhanced the Grand Prize package.  Candidates may now submit their business plans through August 21, 2009.   In a joint effort between Qualcomm and the GSMA’s Mobile Innovation initiative to showcase the best products, services and technologies, the QPrize Grand Prize winner also will win a trip to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain to compete as a Finalist in the GSMA’s Mobile Innovation Grand Prix competition, which is part of the GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards.

Nokia and Qualcomm Plan to Develop Advanced Mobile Devices
