These trends have been observed across several music categories on its Ovi Music services since the time of its launch last year. Oscar winner A R Rahaman has consistently been the most downloaded Indian artist on Ovi Music Store in India.

Union Bank of India, a nationalized bank in India, jointly with Nokia and Obopay has announced their partnership to launch mobile payment services called Union Bank Money available to consumers across India.
The Union Bank Money service will provide those who do not have a bank account, access to financial services through their mobile phones, thus empowering people and their businesses. It creates a financial ecosystem which is inclusive, sustainable and scalable. Addressing one of the leading concerns for the world’s estimated 500 million small businesses, the new service will be designed to help them get more business through personalized, relevant offers and marketing messages, in a way unmatched by traditional methods.

Nokia’s Board of Directors has appointed Stephen Elop President and Chief Executive Officer of Nokia as of September 21. Elop currently heads Microsoft’s Business Division. Before joining Microsoft, Elop held senior executive positions in a number of US-based public companies, including Juniper Networks, Adobe Systems Inc. and Macromedia Inc. He holds a degree in computer engineering and management from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, which is his home country.
“The time is right to accelerate the company’s renewal; to bring in new executive leadership with different skills and strengths in order to drive company success. The Nokia Board believes that Stephen has the right industry experience and leadership skills to realize the full potential of Nokia.
